Financial Impact

The cost of this agreement is budgeted in account 5013-532300, Professional and Special Services Other. Funding for this contract will come from three sources: Preserving Safe and Stable Families (PSSF) Family Preservation, PSSF Family Reunification, and Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention (CAPIT). CAPIT is 100% 2011 Realignment revenues, and PSSF is 100% federal allocation.

REQUESTED ACTION (S)

a)               AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Director to sign the agreement with Empower Tehama for the provision of Transitional Counseling with maximum compensation not to exceed $90,000, effective 9/1/20 through 2/28/21

BACKGROUND INFO

Empower Tehama will provide mental health assessments within 3-5 days of receiving a referral from a Child Protective Services (CPS) case and begin services for the child/family within 7 days of the assessment. A treatment plan will be developed after the third counseling session. This early intervention is crucial for preventing a recurrence of maltreatment and working toward successful reunification of the family.
