a)              TRANSFER OF FUNDS: AUDITOR-CONTROLLER, B-50 - From Contingency (1109-59000) to Office Equipment (1021-57601), $3,000

(Requires 4/5’s vote)

Since our transition from pre-printed check stock, that we ran through a line printer, to blank laser printer stock, the Auditor has been using MICR cartridges in a regular HP printer  that was not designed for that purpose. The result is that too frequently warrants are printed with ink smears that make them unsightly, hard to read and/or non-negotiable.  It is the intention of the Auditor to purchase a printer that is specifically designed for printing warrants with MICR technology.  The Auditor's current budget did not anticipate, and can not support this purchase at this time. It is requested that General Fund contingency funds be appropriated for the purchase.
