REQUESTED ACTION (S)

a)              AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Social Services Director and the District Attorney to sign the Extension/Renewal Summary Purchase of Service agreement with the Tehama County District Attorney's Office for the prosecution of crimes against CalWORKs and CalFresh programs and investigation of welfare fraud, thereby extending the term from 7/1/17 through 6/30/18

BACKGROUND INFO

The California Department of Social Services requires this Purchase of Service agreement be completed to continue receiving federal and state funding for the Special Investigative Unit through the District Attorney's Office. Each year the State requests this document be signed by both the Social Services Director and the District Attorney to verify that an agreement is in place between these two agencies for welfare fraud investigation services. The 2017/18 MOU was signed by both parties on August 29, 2017.
