Financial Impact

There will be no financial impact associated with the requested action. Any advanced Disability Pension Payments made by the County to Mr. Pflager will be reimbursed by CalPERS after the retirement has been processed.


a)               RESOLUTION NO. 2017-88 - Request adoption of a resolution to find and determine that Kyle Pflager is incapacitated within the meaning of the California Public Employees' Retirement Law for performance of his duties in the position of Deputy Sheriff, effective 9/16/17


The County has received notification from CalPERS that Kyle Pflager (Deputy Sheriff) has applied for Industrial Disability Retirement.  Medical records and evidence support approval of this action.  For the industrial disability retirement of a local safety member, CalPERS requires that the agency’s governing board determine whether or not the employee is incapacitated for the performance of his/her duties for a duration of six months or longer.  The proposed resolution, if adopted by the Board, will be submitted to CalPERS.


The attached Resolution authorizes Advanced Disability Pension Payments (ADPP) in the amount of $1,939.20 per month effective 09/16/2017. Mr. Pflager's last official day of employment with the Tehama County Sheriff's Department will be 09/15/2017. His first day of retirement will be 9/16/2017.
