a)              OTHER THAN "A" STEP - Request approval of the Personnel Action Form

appointing Daniel Klausner as a Deputy County Counsel II at Range 83, Step C,

with a tentative start date of 7/1/17


The County Counsel's office has had a vacancy since January 2017.  Mr. Klausner has an advanced law degree, a master of laws degree in dispute resolution from Pepperdine University, and has been a practicing attorney since 2013.  His experience and advance degree will be a benefit to the office as we move forward in building an effective legal team in the County Counsel's office to serve the County.


If the requested action is not approved, the County will lose the opportunity to hire a highly qualified applicant.


The Personnel Office has reviewed the requested action and is in agreement with the Other Than A Appointment contingent upon the candidate passing the pre-employment requirements.
