Financial Impact

Approval of the transfer of Homeland Security funds is necessary for the procurement of forty (40) MAS brand SCBA air bottles for $33,161, with $1,062.12 already budgeted in FY 2016-17, account 2042-53800.

REQUESTED ACTION (S)

a)              TRANSFER OF FUNDS: SHERIFF, B-36 - From Homeland Security to Contingency, $33,161; and From Contingency to Internal Assets, $33,161

b)              Request to adopt the finding that State General Services Contract #1-16-42-04A with Bauer Compressors Inc. for the acquisition of forty (40) MAS brand Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) air bottles, meets all Tehama County Bidding criteria and allows the County to take advantage of special low pricing without the time and expense involved with conducting a formal bid process

 

c)              Request to find it in the best interest of the County to waive the formal bid process for the acquisition of forty (40) MAS brand SCBA air bottles based on the finding

 

d)              Request authorization for the Purchasing Department to issue a purchase order to Bauer Compressors Inc. for the acquisition of forty (40) MAS brand SCBA air bottles for the Fire Department in the amount of $34,223.12

 

BACKGROUND INFO

The request to purchase forty (40) MAS Brand SCBA air bottles is necessary to maintain functionality of vital protective equipment used by the Fire Department. The MAS Brand SCBA air bottles are required for use with existing equipment. Purchasing through the State Department of General Services Contract with Bauer Compressors Inc. allows Tehama County to purchase this equipment in a timely manner and at a low, competitively bid price.
